Barack Obama greasing the box in Snowmass, Colorado

Okay, that was not really Barack Obama, but it brings to mind a question: In a nation where 65 percent of the population is overweight and 32 percent is obese…is President Elect Barack Obama’s “skinniness” a liability? “Listen, I’m skinny but I’m tough,” Obama has said. Despite his visits to ice cream parlors and greasy-spoon diners around the country, his slim build might have some Americans wondering if this guy can lead. The president elect has been criticized by opponents for appearing elitist and out of touch with the average American. The last overweight President to be elected was 335-pound William Howard Taft in 1908. Apparently, Obama likes working out and has no excess body fat. Could being in shape hold him back? Stay tuned.
