Red Bull Empire of Dirt combines the first dirt super pipe, over-dimensional dirt jumps and tricky street obstacles to create the first worldwide dirt slopestyle event Who’s the best BMX all-rounder in the world? This inadequately investigated
question is to be answered in Devon (Great Britain) between June 13 and 16. On a
course that will get street, dirt and vert riders sweating equally, the best BMX riders
will show the world why only using a BMX bike to ride in a straight line is a waste -
and how you can use an aluminum frame fixed to two 20-inch wheels. After the final
contest on Saturday the riders themselves will select the first Red Bull Emperor of
Dirt via democratic vote.
Only all-rounders have a chance to win

Thirty-three international riders from all disciplines will take part in the unusual
competition: for example the three-time X Games-winner Corey Bohan (Australia);
the Spanish street and dirt rider Sergio “Hanson” Layos; and the British local heroes
Kye Forte, who is more at home on street and dirt, and Sebastian “Bas” Keep, an
experienced rider on street and vert.
"A little bit scary"

The course is described by organizers with typical British understatement as “a little
bit scary”. Strewn in the riders’ path will be obstacles such as unhealthily large
double jumps and street obstacles with rails, transfers and wall rides - and the
world’s first dirt super pipe. Creating the bicycle rollercoaster took several tonnes of
dirt and one month of construction work.
