Acne sucks. This is what you need to do to get rid of it. Treatments for acne include
rubbing the skin with benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin (Retin-A), antibiotics and oral antibiotics, isotretinoin and hormones. Diet may also help. Australian scientists reported that eating a low-glycemic index diet (low in simple sugars that raise blood sugar quickly) improved acne symptoms. The best treatment depends on the nature and severity of the acne, but typically includes taking 1.5 grams to 2 grams a day of oral antibiotics until there are no more pimples, then tapering off to 500mg per day if the skin remains clear. Topical skin treatments continue for two months after the acne has cleared up. Treatment for acne has come a long way, so spare your friends the misery of looking at your volcanic face.
