shaunwhite2.jpgThe biggest name in the X-Games is Shaun White, and for some, after a full week under the sunny skies of Aspen, the "Big White Hype" became too much.

We lost track of how many times the flying tomato was mentioned over the loud speakers. In fact, it was a relief to some of our staffers when the boy wonder did not take the top honors  in Slopestyle. But under the lights of the Superpipe, Mr. White threw down big and proved that he is the worlds best ’piper with super solid runs, capping the night off with a sick 1260 that sent the crowd even further into insanity. The speed of the last 180 put us back in the Shaun White fan club. Check out his take on that run in our Up Close and Personal interview.

Silver medalist, Ryoh Aono was our personal favorite to win. In his giraffe patterned jacket, Aono logged probably the most runs during the practice sessions. We wanted to get some insight into his mastery, but since Mad Dog’s Japanese is even worse than his English is, we got skunked on that interview, but we were close.

For now, Bronze medalist Kevin Pearce is still living in a "White shadow," but we don’t think its going to stay that way. After you watch his piercing interview, you will probabaly think the same.
